Welcome to the website of Southern Cross, Modern Australian Cuisine.

What is Modern Australian Cuisine? Modern Australian Cuisine is a combination of the various food cultures that call Australia home. With influences from Europe, Asia and the Mediterranean, Australian food has developed its own identity, which makes it one of the most exciting cuisines in the world today.

Australia is such a young country, we are not bound by food traditions, and with the arrival of so many different cultures we are more than happy to accept the flavours and work with them. We didn’t try to Australianize it, we accepted it. Through this Modern Australian Cuisine was born.

After leaving Australia and a few years travelling, we opened our doors to the Dutch public in December 2002.

We offer a warm modern atmosphere with a wine bar, a spacious dining room and a separate private dining room for groups up to 16 persons. We have the ability to accommodate group reservations up until 80 persons.

In the summer months we also have a peaceful garden for alfresco style dining. (click here for an impression)
